The CP42 certificate is a legal requirement for commercial kitchen facilities using Gas. Failure to have a valid yearly certificate in place may result in prosecution under Regulation 35 of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations. The Safety at Work Act of 1971 also states that you have a duty of care to your workers, and peace of mind for your customers and property.

If you have a commercial kitchen then your maintenance routines should include regular ductwork cleaning to conform to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The majority of kitchen fires start within the ductwork, so regular cleaning is a must for safety and peace of mind.

A lot of commercial landlords and Insurance companies require Certification that the equipment your staff are using comply to regulations and are safe to operate within your setting.
